My dear friend,
When I started my career 17 years ago as a young guy fresh out of college, I went through a corporate training. The aim of the training was to transform the young kids of college to corporate professionals. I remember one incident from those 2 months of training. We had a corporate trainer for soft skills and grooming training. I remember her impressive introduction when she said that companies like Infosys, TCS etc. are her clients. For me as a very young guy, this statement had a great impression.
The next incident I remember – She asked the whole class, ‘What is the best stress buster?’ Before moving ahead reading this letter, please pause for a second and think of your answer in your mind. What do you think – What is the best stress buster as per you?
I didn’t know how the students responded to this but I remember the answer very well.
Question: What is the best stress buster?
And the answer was – Exercise!
I just remember the lesson but honestly for the next 10 years of life, I didn’t even think of it ever. When life was going through some challenging phase a couple of years ago – I remembered this and started running which was the easiest to start up with. And honestly – it was more for mental and psychological reasons than a physical one.
“The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” – Mark Twain
I started and never stopped. From a person who never ran in life, I have come a long way to easily run a half marathon of 21KM. And the next goal to run a marathon of 42km is in the list.
“The more you invest in exercise, the richer your life becomes in health, happiness, and fulfillment.” – Unknown
Any form of exercise not only changes your body but it changes your attitude, state of mind and the mood. Have you ever had a run or did any kind of exercise? What’s your state of mind after the run or exercise? The energy goes high and in the high energy mode, we are at our best and ready to deal with anything in life.
Want to clear what’s going on in your head? Head for a run or do some exercise to get in a high energy state. See the life of any achiever in life, you will find that exercise to keep a healthy body is always on the top priority list.
Exercise is the way of transforming not only your body but your whole being. So my friend, if you are missing on any form of exercise in your life then you are seriously missing life. So the task for you this week – how about starting any form of exercise in the coming week? Start from a small walk, start from simple yoga, or start from any breathing exercise – but please start!
One of the best ways of building a habit is – schedule it before or after any existing habit. For example – commit to yourself that you will exercise for 15 mins before taking a bath tomorrow. Or you will go for a 15 mins walk after waking and freshen up tomorrow. Take the help of any existing habit to build a new habit with commitment and intention to persevere.
I wish you the best health to have the best of life, please don’t miss it!
Your friend for life,
Jogi

As always super inspiring! I have missed this element, the regular routine of daily exercise, in the past couple of weeks because of my jam-backed lifestyle. But will surely take it up seriously now once again. Nothing better than running of course! Thanks for inspiring and helping me make this commitment. Looking forward to reading more.
